We are back at the fantastic Peninsula Chicago to talk about the bridesmaid’s style. As we showcased yesterday, the bride is wearing a gorgeous Monique Lhuillier gown. Today our bridesmaids are wearing an Alice and Olivia sequin ball gown. We just love the metallic textured taffeta and the sequined bodice. Together they create a voluminous and beautiful dress that is perfect for a ballroom reception. The accessories are understated and simple playing off the metallic tones in the dress. What is your favorite piece?
This week we are featuring another one of our friends from the Engage12 conference, and heading to Chicago’s Peninsula Hotel on the Magnificent Mile. When I think of a Chicago wedding, I think of a traditional black-tie affair that is the epitome of understated elegance. In Chicago, there are few better places to do that than The Peninsula’s Grand Ballroom with floor to ceiling windows and breathtaking views. The Peninsula prides it’s self on incredible service and providing a relaxing environment for its guests. To us, it sounds like a wonderful place to check in for the weekend and get away from it all!
We love Monique Lhuillier’s “Candice” gown for it’s long sleeves and demure lacy sexiness. Sometimes the most alluring thing can be to show nothing except the shape of a woman. This dress does just that with it’s slim column silhouette and long sleeves. The detachable sheer skirt gives the bride a more traditional and voluminous look for going down the aisle and then a sophisticated dress for the reception. We would suggest changing up your hair and accessories to really make the two looks different and distinct.
We are back at the Hamptons where the sands and beach have inspired today’s bridesmaids look. We have kept it simple with a gorgeous J. Crew Lucienne One-Shoulder dress in silk chiffon. We think the pleating on the bodice with flouncy skirt would look beautiful amongst any backdrop in the Hamptons. The accessories are low key with amazing Oscar de la Renta Hudson metallic leather multi-strap sandals in a hint of sliver to play with the Casablanca blue of the bridesmaids dress. The other silver accessories are the Kotur clutch, J. Crew Flower Lattice necklace, J.Crew Crystal Crush bracelet, and J. Crew Martha bracelet. What do you think of the look?
This week we are focused on the The Hamptons as inspiration for our wedding attire. The Hamptons are the epitome of chic, country, and New York sophistication. When we think of The Hamptons, we think beautiful beaches, lush lawns, and gorgeous estates that are the perfect balance of country and chic. Hosting your reception in a tent gives you a blank canvas and lets you decide on everything from carpet to chandeliers! Here are some snapshots of The Hamptons and reception tents for inspiration. We think the perfect dress for a tented backyard wedding is this beautiful Carolina Herrera gown. It is classic, chic, and has a touch of sparkle making it the perfect compliment.
Question: I’m getting married in the mountains, and want to have photos taken outside in a pretty rural area. Do you have any suggestions for how to keep my dress looking good?
Answer: Absolutely! There are certain precautions that you can take when you know will be “off-roading” to get great photos. I actually experienced this last summer a clients wedding in Wyoming. The gown was a gorgeous creation of tulle and organza and the path to the barn where we were taking photos was dirt. To make matters more complicated the bride was wearing stilettos, and the ground was full of holes that some sort of animal must have burrowed into. Oy!
It ultimately worked out because both my assistant and myself were with her and could carry her very long train and veil. But I have these suggestions for you to help avoid problems:
1) Always speak to your photographer ahead of time to understand the locations he has scouted out for photos and what the terrain is like.
2) If you are going to be walking on ground or dirt, bring wedge shoes to make walking easier.
3) Pack a layer of clear plastic cut in a circle that you can stand on so your dress isn’t on the dirt.
We are back at Little Nell for our bridesmaid style inspiration. As we showcased yesterday, the bride is wearing Valentino Haute Couture therefore the bridesmaids must also be styled accordingly. The bridesmaids dresses are beautiful MATTHEW WILLIAMSON in creamy silk-chiffon. The mint color will tie in perfectly with the natural beauty of Aspen. Since the dress is so stunning we have kept the accessories plain and simple. Our favorite piece is the VALENTINO embellished leather sandals. What is yours?
This week are thrilled to feature our friends at The Little Nell in Aspen, Colorado. While you may typically think of Aspen as a perfect winter wedding destination, it is absolutely stunning in the warmer weather! The property its self is a haven of mountain luxury, and arguably there is no better place to get married than at the top of Aspen Mountain. Your guests will take a gondola ride from the hotel three miles up to the Aspen Mountain Club where the ceremony takes place outside over looking the Rockies. Truly breathtaking!
Clearly, our bride this week loves things that are the utmost in luxury. But she also loves the natural, peaceful setting that the Rocky mountains provide. Playing off that combination, we chose this Valentino Haute Couture dress. Between the lightness of the organza and the floral motif with slight beaded accents, to us it is the perfect dress for a wedding at The Little Nell.
Welcome back to sunny Jumby Bay. Just looking around this gorgeous property makes us want to book a flight ASAP and have rum punch on the verandah. Today’s bridesmaids attire is influenced by the color of the beautiful Caribbean water. This Milly Jamie Tweed dress is so perfect it looks like it was made for this wedding! The beautiful white and turquoise tweed is accentuated with cotton-blend trims to create the allusion of an hourglass shape. The dress is accessorized with the perfect beach shoes, patent cork wedge Jimmy Choos. The accessories play on the turquoise theme with a brilliant Miu Miu clutch, J.Crew necklaces that can be layered to add edginess, and an amazing cocktail turquoise ring by AURÉLIE BIDERMANN. What is your favorite piece?
While we in the northeast are still battling the cold, it is nice to dream of warm weather and golden sand. This week we highlight the amazing property of Jumby Bay. Jumby Bay is a 300-acre private enclave north of Antigua in the West Indies. It is the perfect place for relaxation, privacy and serenity, and an ideal location for a bride who only wants those closest to her in attendance.
We imagine this bride to be wearing a stunning Giambattista Valli twisted crepe gown. The high neckline with keyhole cut out is stunning and simple for a beach-side wedding. Accessorizing in gold tones and simple Manolo Blahnik Chaos sandals is a great way to accentuate the crepe gown. Which spectacular Irene Neuwirth piece is your favorite?
Back at the sunny Four Seasons Punta Mita, oh how we wish we were there now! It has been nonstop dreary on the East Coast this week. We have beautiful shots of the property decorated for various wedding events. There is nothing better than dining under the stars. Our bridesmaids style is inspired by the J.Crew Kylie dress in sunwashed aqua. This silk chiffon one shoulder dress is beautiful with the gathered top and wispy party skirt- is the perfect beach bridesmaid look! Accented with bold J.Crew pieces, our favorite is the enameled double-frog bangle it is fun, funky, and has a hint of the sunwashed aqua color. What is your favorite piece below?
